As a specialist in gum disease and periodontal treatment, Dr. Weinfield treats patients with gum disease and also places dental implants for patients who are missing teeth.
“When people lose teeth, they usually don’t realize that the bone underneath the gum melts away quickly when the tooth is gone. Bone loss caused by missing teeth can change the structure of the face and affect the way a person looks. Dental implants preserve the bone, plus they look and feel natural,” Dr. Weinfield says.
